[Discussion] Naruto is objectively wrong, the people should not choose the Hokage

Naruto's insistence on a Hokage chosen by the people... It's not how Konoha has operated. The daimyo chose Hashirama. Hashirama chose his younger brother. Tobirama chose Hiruzen. Hiruzen chose Minato, and Minato died a failure. Naruto's father was essentially a failure and a prodigy at the same time. He failed to protect the village, instead relying on Hiruzen. He died, and let his wife die. He nearly got his newborn son abducted and kidnapped, nearly murdered.

Then he sealed a demon fox in him. Minato really *is* a failure. Despite what Naruto believes, the previous Hokage haven't been the best of leaders. Nor were they chosen by the people. Democracy is a bad system. It doesn't work, because people are weak-minded, lazy, stupid and don't understand the world they live in.

That's the truth. America too, will fall. It is already declining. Rome failed as well. The barbarians always win in the end. That's reality. Sasuke is right, and Naruto is wrong. Itachi should have been Hokage.

Naruto Uzumaki does not deserve to be Hokage, and he will never be Hokage either. He is too young, naive, unintelligent and more than anything else -- just too uninformed to be a leader. Sasuke gets it. Naruto doesn't.

Right, but manga-ka are often vague about these things. Naruto may very well end up sharing the seat of Hokage with Sasuke. It's the most likely ending IMO.

As for Murica, although democracy is a bad system(even from the 1st president which actually got elected by popularity in his battle), the presidents have done what they believe is right, even if wrong steps were to be taken that are finally taking s toll on this country. And now that democracy seems to be going the way of popularity contest, the presidents are burdening us more than helping. So I agree that democracy has it's faults as well.

-Tobirama only chose Hiruzen because it wasn't an ideal time to let the people decide... he was about to commit suicide, it was during a war, they needed a leader as fast as possible, and they were miles away from Konoha.
-The daimyos recommended Minato as well.
-Regardless of who chooses the Hokage, people still need to like that individual in order to feel at ease and not rebel. So, it really doesn't matter who chooses them. The people like them and then the system remains in place, people don't overthrow him/her or complain.
-Naruto is correct regarding the above premise, as was Itachi when he brought up that people have to like you in order for the system to work. At least the majority do unless you want a dictatorship.

Itachi has the personality and strength to be Hokage and represented the good side of what one should be (ironically while he chose a harsh, dark path). However, that's not his style. He doesn't seek recognition and he wouldn't want such a "glorious" position as Hokage. He does good things from behind the scenes, he doesn't need people praising him and has no desire for such things. He probably wouldn't like waging wars and dealing with such matters either like the Hokage do.

Sasuke is confirmed to lose this fight judging by the fact Gaara is alive in "The Last".

Kishimoto has stated on copious occasions that Naruto will be Hokage at some point in time.

As far as one getting it over the other, neither do. Sasuke is too extreme and hypocritical, Naruto is too naive and blind. They'll just tnj and then combine their plans together probably to achieve a balance.

Fave Akatsuki: Itachi
Character he sees himself as: Naruto
Fave Female: Tsunade and Anko because of her relationship with Orochimaru (he's probably trolling with Anko)
Fave character to draw: Sasuke
Other faves: Gaara, Bee, Choji

One could like to draw a character but not like them the most because their story is not their favorite. He has different categories of faves.

You are a sasuke lover and naruto hater. If naruto found a way to stop world hunger you'd think that would be wrong. And technically minato didn't fail. He put the nine tail in naruto trusting he would be able to use its power to save the world. And what do you know he used that power to help save the world. Minato trusted the future in the hands of the real child of the prophecy. And you mention Hitler choosen by the people, what about all the great leader choosen by the people. You can't choose a few failure and say the whole world is like that, that's manipulating the truth.
