The Sage of Six Paths , Naruto, Ashura,9 Bijuu( Question)

Watching old anime clips on youtube (who does that?) And came across something.

When Naruto is taking the CDB's from the 5 bijuu he is fighting, Kurama says this. "Dont you all agree? That Narutos the Old Mans...." The bijuu all agree.


I thought it meant he is the Sages/hagoromo's reincarnation. This is furthered much later with Kaguya seeing her son in him.

Now it is said that he is basically Ashuras reincarnate by Hagoromo. Shown during their talk with an apparition of Ashura appearing behind him

Is this possibly a retcon and he is Ashura reincarnated or is it possibly he is the Sages reincarnation.

That makes more sense. I know you cant plan every thing as you go but Kishi really made multiple plot holes regarding this whole situation

Summary:true power is the sage's sons cooperating together not becoming like rikudo,which is why he chose the younger son.The sage told the bijuus that there will come a time that they will know what this true power is,and they entrusted naruto with their names and some chakra

since its most probably that if Hagoromo had a transmigrant. That person would have rinnegan.
