Can Rock lee defeat Gaara right now

As we all know gaara won because of plot because of the whole sand village attack thing. Could lee defeat gaara now that sand armor shouldn't be able to withstand a beating like that without plot.

How is it plot that Gaara won when he didn't even use his Bijuus power to transform into mini Shukaku? No Lee can't beat Gaara. Part 1 was a base Genin Lee who went against a base Gaara who was about low-mid Chunin and didn't use all of his power. Gaara out smarted Lee and won in base. Right now it's a Chunin base Lee going against a Kage Gaara. Gaara's sand has shown to take C3, A's leg drop, Sasuke's Enton, his dad sand-like gold barrages, 2nd Mizukage's attacks, hold Susanoo down while pulling out Edo Madara, help stop a Meteor, tanked 5 Complete Susanoo's blades while saving Mei. Nothing Lee has is getting through Gaara's sand. Gaara can also fly or make sand tsunami swallow his enemy whole.
