Imo he'll get it back. Wing stated that on rare occasions someones nen type has changed. As a person, Gon has changed alot since the beginning of this manga. I think his type might change when he gets back his nen.

He would probably have to go through the same process of training to use Nen again and since he has done it before, it should take him faster to learn it the second-time round. The real question is will Gon make an attempt to learn Nen again? His goal was to find his father and he has successfully achieved that. Now, we don't know what he will do next. Ging said it is now a good time for Gon to reflect on his future. So who knows...

Nah, the anime stopped because it was catching up to the manga. The manga is still ongoing but we don't know if that's really the case because there is a hiatus atm. The last time we got a chapter was 8 weeks ago and we won't get one next week (again).

I agree with both of you. Although I like Gon as an enhancer (because it fits him) the only reason I see that Togashi made it so his nen was taken away was so that Toagshi could change his nen type.

The reason being might be because as an enhancer he can only do so much (Well figuratively speaking as he destroyed Pitou). The strongest Enhancer we saw was that beast guy from the spiders and that doesn't even come close to the best nen users of HxH. As we've seen Kurapika and Killua have long surpassed gone so why start over and make him even weaker if he's the protagonist?

Togashi might be the laziest person alive but he does know how to construct a good story (Yu Yu hakusho).
