Around 100 years ago (naruto time) Madara and Hashirama met at a creek tossing stones. They bonded and became friends and eventually a lot more.
One day their families forced them to break up. They still sought to see each other and used the cover of war as dates. Every battle they went to they'd fight a little then go do gay guy stuff.
As they grew older Hashirama became more abusive to Madara. Mentally and physically and would ravage Madara on the battlefield (among other places). One day he hit him with his wood so hard Madaras eyes turned red and black.
Izuna, tried to get Madara to stop seeing Hashi but Tobirama, caring about his big bros happiness killed Izuna. Madara , mad with gried called their relationship quits and ran away. He came back (like they always do) and fought (***) with Hashi one more time and lost (as usual).
Then they formed the hidden leaf village and Hashi (who had many lovers) didnt want to settle with Madara. So Madara left and tried to make Hashi jealous by dating a fox with nine tails. Hashi decided to get back his b*tch and went and fought (***) Madara again.
Hashirama then told Madara " I met this red hair chick ima bang for life so umm I KILL YOU NOW"
So yea . Madara was abused.
