Let's say for whatever reason the showdown everyone wanted to see was going to happen...

Pain VS Itachi!!

6 vs 1 isn't very good odds no matter which way you put it.

What if Itachi sought the aid of his partner Kisame.

Where would Kisame's loyalties lie?!

Would he help Itachi, his respected partner??

Or would his loyalties still lie with Akatski?

What are your thoughts?!

Depends, does Kisame know that Itachi is a spy? He would likely back Obito's choice - Pein. He liked Itachi, but at the end of the day Pein was more vital to his plan and goal.

He would probably stay out of this. Btw, Itachi is a bad match for Kisame ^^

To me I always thought Obito gave Kisame identity. A place in the world. But Itachi pointed him in the direction self-identity or inner peace. Then again I haven't looked into Kisame's character too much.

I could honestly see him going both ways!

This is a tough one to call. Kisame truly believed in the Akatsuki, but his respect for Itachi was up there as well. I think he would be conflicted and in the end would take no action for either side. Though tbh Itachi would never ask Kisame to betray the Akatsuki.

Kisame was loyal to Obito till the very end, if Obito told him to aid Pain then Kisame would've definitely obeyed.

Kisame was never loyal to Itachi though. He simply acknowledged him as a shinobi and worked together with him as a teammate.
His master was always Obito.

Agreed!

Naaaaaah. Maybe he would maybe he wouldn't. I truly think he changed after he teamed up with Itachi.

Not saying he'd go with him, just saying I wouldn't be surprised

Only after he was ready to commit suicide he understood what itachi meant to him. He would've and they honor and mourn him.... that is if they got itachi.

Usually when I make a thread I'm leaning towards an answer.. But this one I'm really 50/50!! I think it'd be cool if he went with Solo King sherry for the fact that Kisame and Itachi (water + fire) vs Pain would be so freakin epic. The fight and double betrayal to Akatski would be so sick haha
