Okay, I understand Sasuke wants to be hated. He keeps reiterating that's why he needs to sever everything and kill the past. How exactly is that going to unify everyone? What, is he going to play internationally wanted criminal? Or is he's going Nagato's route and trying to establish himself as Sovereign/Fuhrer/Big Brother for the NV? I know it's Sasuke, and for all his good points, he's also a short-sighted self-centered ass and always will be, but this seems not at all well thought out.

So anyone with a better grasp on him than I wanna try and explain what the hell he's doing?

Basically he is trying to pull a Lelouch without the dying part.

He wants to become his brother even though he clearly doesn't understand what his brother believed in and he wants to become a totalitarian dictator who everyone will hate.

Wow,he wants to bear the worlds hatred all on himself and you call him self centered.

He partially understands Itachi. He understands that itachi bore the hatred for everyone else himself. He severed his ties with his family inorder for Konoha to maintain peace.Sasuke pretty much wants to do what Itachi did.Except on a much larger scale.

Essentially what ^they^ said. However, I would like to add that Sasuke is pretty well blinded by his ideals at this point. What he claims he wants to do has already been done in this war. The Shinobi have already come together as one and were fighting, not as villages, but as one voice against Madara and Obito.

I think Sasukeʻs plan is to rule everyone with an iron fist in order to be hated by everyone. That way he can do whatever he pleases (like kill whoever he wants to) since thatʻll just make everyone hate him more and the world will focus all their hate on him rather than on each other, or theyʻll be too busy with being angry with sasuke that they wonʻt have the time or effort to hate each other. Or theyʻll unify with each other in order to stand against sasuke.

He wants to kill the past because to him, becoming the embodiment of hatred would mean eliminating bonds of friendship and love. In order to accomplish his mission he has to become completely black, while the bonds of his past still exist, heʻll be gray.

The Shinobi Nations who were constantly fighting against each other, and had gotten into 3 prevoius World Wars teaming up for a couple of days inorder to fight against people who were a threat to them all isn't a believable enough reason to think they will stay united.

Onoki said that they stay united after the war.

Oonoki also fought against the other four Shinobi Nations for decades, and said they would stay united after teaming up for two days.

.......
...which makes oonokiʻs words all the more credible since heʻs probably the worldʻs foremost authority on reasons why the villages shouldnʻt team up, yet he still believes that theyʻll be united after this war.

Then what would be the point of Gaara's speech then? He saw how fractured the Shinobi were before they went into battle yet he was able to turn their hearts by speaking of how Naruto had helped him. Now they've fought together, shed blood and sweat together as a unified fighting force. Do you really think that they'll throw that all away once it's over? I highly doubt it, especially after all that transpired during this war.

Besides, Sasuke is forgetting one important thing. Some people are bound to actually agree with him and follow him instead of hate him. He'll never be completely hated unless he wants to kill innocent men, women, and children.

I know that look united now and will most likely stay united, but it's understandable why he would have his doubts for the reasons i mentioned above.

Years of fighting surpasses teaming up for a couple days to fight against people who were a threat to everyone.

But does he really think that providing yet another target for their hatred will solve anything? Let's get hypothetical here: Sasuke wins the fight and kills Naruto, puts his plan into motion, and successfully takes on the hatred of the world. What happens when he dies/is killed? He can't live forever unless he pulls an Orochimaru. His plan is just flawed no matter how one looks at it.

He wants to shoulder the hatred of the entire world by himself. Do all the dirty work from the shadows. Hes taking the path naruto was going to try and take at the beginning of the war before his convo with itachi.

If that was true then what is the point of naruto wanting to become hokage? because the world doesn't need kages anymore after the war right
the point being made by Onoki was that they were committed to getting along with each other and respecting each other, not becoming 1 big ninja conglomerate.

This is what I think as well. 1. Tyrants are usurped. He hasn't mentioned the idea of removing free will from people. He'd be better off leaving everyone in the tsukiyomi. 2. Sasuke is not immortal. Unless he hooks himself up to the gedou mazou for continous life support, there's no way he'd be able to continuously rule over everyone and even then if someone removes him from it in around a century, he'll die.

Sasuke's just not thinking this out.
