Literary analysis and comprehension isn't for everyone anyways.
Why don't you elaborate? Nothing justifies his insanity from what he's trying to do. If you say there is logic behind his act, it must be very, very irrational.

although there's a lot of people who cares about sasuke, he only see's one person in his whole life that he loves enough, someone who understands him enough to break his will, and that's naruto. He wants to break the bond they have in order to be fully engulfed in darkness and hate. How could he be the hokage he envisions while he has love in his heart for his best friend? No homo...

Re: I want to kill Naruto because "He's the closest thing to a best friend I've ever

look at that this way , Itachi didn't killed Sasuke , and Sasuke said that Itachi made only 1 mistake , which was not killing Sasuke , which means , Sasuke WILL NOT MAKE MISTAKES , which is , he will kill Naruto , which in the case of Itachi the person that he didn't killed was Sasuke , but Sasuke will kill Naruto , does this made sense to you?

compare Itachi with Sasuke (the decisions and mistakes of itachi with the decisions of Sasuke).

yeah, man this further proves that he's mentally retarded. I mean you don't get rid of love by killing someone you care about. The feeling doesn't go away...if anything it's going to haunt him after wards and he's gonna be more emo and probably suicide. What a psychopath!

lol, thats the point for him to be more emo. but i doubt he'd commit suicide, tho maybe he'd go insane one day. At the end, he won't have any influences left to sway him. Naruto, itachi, his family are the only people who can sway him in his resolve. if they are all dead, his resolve is solid. I don't agree with his logic but that's why he wants to kill naruto

Bonds=barriers to gaining power in Part 1=vulnerability in Part 2

No more logical now than it was then, but Sasuke has always been extreme about how far he'll go to achieve his goals.

Irrational logic? That's an oxymoron.

Sasuke wants to kill Naruto for three central reasons:

1. Naruto is the embodiment of what he feels the need to erase. The ideals of the past and the tailed beast, as well as being the only one who can match or exceed him in power and is capable of stopping him.

2. He believes that the Hokage is a conduit, a lighting rod, that draws in all of the world's darkness and embodies it so it doesn't affect the rest of the world. The first step in doing so is submerging yourself in the darkness to the furthest possible point. Itachi, in Sasuke's eyes, came the closest to doing so and was a true Hokage, but made a mistake: He couldn't sever his closest bond and kill Sasuke, so he failed to permanently change the world for the better. Now, Sasuke won't make that mistake, and sever his closest bond, I.e. killing Naruto, allowing himself to fully become the lightning rod of darkness and truly changing the world.

3. Being that the true Hokage must shoulder all of that darkness and hate himself, it's burdensome. It's not an easy thing to do and effectively ruin who you are. In a way, he may see himself as doing a favor to Naruto. By killing him, which is the only way headstrong never-give-up Naruto won't become Hokage, he saves him from having to make that sacrifice.

The third one is just my interpretation.

Yeah the oxymoron was intentional. You have good points. What are your thoughts on Sasuke's point of view?
