Its not like this is to be taken as gospel
and before anyone says something dumb I know it will always be Luff>Zoro>Sanji
but hear me out.
Just because someone is stronger or more powerful doesn't mean they should win. Remember Enel vs Luffy Enel should have won but luffy was like rock to scissors for enel.
I am suggesting that maybe the monster trio works the same I mean think about it
Lets start with the first.
Luffy V Zoro.
Luffy is clearly stronger and that is not what I am proposing. I am proposing that the water to luffy's fire is zoro's fighting style.
And the second one should then be
Zoro V Sanji
Zoro is Clearly stronger than Sanji
The reason I gave Zoro mid ranged attacks instead of Close range is because his attacks are longer than what his sword swings are. Like Tora gari he charges the enemy from a distance. Or OniGiri he steps back turning away then charges his opponent. Or his Cannon attacks like 1080 pound ho being a distanced slash. Even his asura starts a distance away from his opponent. Sanji on the other hand is a man that can light his whole body on fire is fast and up close and personal. Sanji himself can turn into a giant candle stick meaning just being up close to him hurts his opponent. And unlike zoro he is much more agile in close range preferring to dodge kicks in his fight against Vergo versus blocking or deflecting. Something zoro has to cope with. sanji being faster and better in close range and not only hurting zoro just by being near him (with hells memories) makes him like rock to zoros scissors.
And finally the last one
Luffy V Sanji
This one is much less complicated simply because it can be expressed in one simple line. "Because I am rubber" Luffy has the ability to take almost any blunt force and be okay. Sanji exclusively uses blunt force making 100% of his attacks in effective. And even more so Luffy sets his body on fire to do red hawk meaning he is well adjusted to Taking the heat from sanji's kicks. Luffy's overall immunity to blunt force and his ability to coat himself in fire make him Like Paper to sanji's rock.
I KNOW THAT THE POWER SYSTEM IS LUFFY>ZORO>SANJI THIS ISN'T ARGUING AGAINST THAT AT ALL. ALL ITS SUGGESTING IS THAT THE FIGHTING STYLES AMONGST THE STRAW HATS MONSTER TRIO ARE QUITE ARGUABLY A REPRESENTATION OF A ROCK/PAPER/SCISSORS DYNAMIC

- Luffy is a rubber man with Mid range attack Immune to blunt attacks and weak to slashes. Uses stretching to boost his attacks
- Zoro is a slashing Mid range power house but in base is the slowest of the three. Uses his muscles to boost his attacks.
- Sanji is a close range and Arguably the fastest of the three and uses fire to boost his attacks
Lets start with the first.

He bypasses all his immunities as he doesn't use blunt attacks. Luffy is weak even in haki to slashes and bites. When luffy goes to stretch that leaves his body open for slashes and attacks so stretching to far to boost up his attacks like with gomu gomu rocket that leaves plenty of time for a counter attack from zoro's equally ranged attacks. Plus since zoro using his body and his spirit to enhance his attacks is much quicker than some of the stances luffy takes for gears even post time skip. Him being able to damage Luffy much more efficently than most opponents. And the fact that he is quick enough to stop luffy from completing his gears at any range they fight makes him like Sissors to Luffy's paper
