They can outlast him. Gai's speed is inferior to that of Minato, so he will a very hard time to attack him.
They also can teleport to konoha and stay there drinking tea or something and Gai will die by himself. XD

His speed alone is impossible to counter for the 5kage seeing as Juubi Jin Madara had a hard time. EE plows through any and all of there defense and there then turned into paste.​

It's really not fair to pair up 8gates against anyone really. The fight will at most last for a minute. If Gai would have aimed upwards and slightly to the right with Night Moth on jj madara, the manga would have ended right there and then.

They don't have time to ftg. The distance isn't in the op. The location is valley of the end. The kage wouldn't run away, they're fighting.
