Bloody mist.

Hi there,

So I was wondering something the other day. Can anyone tell me (if it's been confirmed) when the bloody mist even started?

Or, was the bloody mist just a nickname for the village hidden in the mist even before the actual graduation ceremonies took place?

Right now, I'm kinda confused.

I know this thread has probably been made before but I feel like I never got a definitive answer. Because this is what I get from the wikia:

"During the reign of the Fourth Mizukage, Kirigakure began using a new graduation ritual for their academy: death matches for students who wish to move on into the ranks of ninja. This act reinforced the infamous nickname "Village of the Bloody Mist" (血霧の里, Chigiri no Sato)."

As we all know by now, the fourth was being controlled by tobi/obito (never shown that it was obito but strongly implied). However, after reading chapter 605 again, something seemed weird.

One of the kirigakure shinobi's says "Don't underestimate the village of the bloody mist" and this is weird because the events in chapter 605 happened presumebly before the reign of the fourth mizukage (controlled by tobi).

So, was the bloody mist just a nickname even before these events (graduation ceremony) or did the bloody mist start before the fourth's reign?

By original Kage who do you mean? Tobi controlled Yagura,Madara was dead.

Was it the Sandaime or Nidaime that Madara controlled? Obito controlled the Yondaime though. I thought the Bloody Mist was from the Civil war as well as the Graduation.

The village was called the bloody mist when Rin died and Madara was still alive. Obviously Obito wasn't controlling Yagura at the time.

I don't know the answer myself, but I hope Kishi explains this before the manga ends.

its something that hasnt been explained. it existed when rin was kidnapped. obito controlled yagura years later and recruited kisame. madara couldnt leave the cave so maybe he used zetsu to trick them into capturing rin.

Root is Danzo's Anbu faction. Anbu are Anbu.

All too confusing lol but Yeah, I hope kishi clears this out. Be it either in the series or in an interview, I don't care either way as long as it is cleared out.
