I was thinking that they will fight where they are at, and it is Naruto's strategic plan during the fight to let Sasuke chase him to the Valley of the Ends where the fight will eventually end (because we all know talk no jutsu and old memories will have a great deal with Sasuke). I feel like nostalgia would have a greater impact this way than just hey "I'll meet you at where we fought last time just because that's where we first fought and the fans are all hyped up for our last battle." It makes no sense.

1. Get away from people
2. It holds value to him and Naruto
3. Its symbolic of the brothers feud ending

So it basically makes no sense because it didn't unfold the way you wanted?

But I mean this is Sasuke we are talking about. If it was Naruto, it makes more sense...but Sasuke was initiating the relocation. Since when did Sasuke care about values between him and Naruto? Naruto would care if other people were in the way because they would get hurt, but this is Sasuke we are talking about. It's off character for him to suggest that.

It doesn't even have to unfold the way I was expecting it. If it was Naruto's initiation to relocate it makes more sense. Read my reply above.

I disagree. He's been looking forward to fight Naruto for a while, why would he want other people to get in the way? Sasuke puts up a front but has proved time and time again that he's aware of the strong bond between Naruto and himself. Despite how he acts he truly respects him.

Sasuke wants Naruto to prove his resolve. Nothing more, nothing less. Sasuke's only intention is trying to see how strong Naruto actually is. He doesn't want to Kill Naruto he just wants to see for himself how strong bond is between them. He also knows that he can not truly understand Naruto without fighting him. Naruto isn't the type to hide his intentions. Unlike Hashirama, Naruto won't make the same mistake. Did a drop dead last loser become his strongest and closest friend. I mean seriously if he wanted to do the world harm he had ample opportunity, he just 9 beasts under control, seriously. Sasuke's caught up in his feelings right now. It's obvious he's going through nostalgia atm.

Come one, seriously. Sasuke's facial expressions suggest most of his comments are for the sake of the reaction. He is purposely trying to test if Naruto can resist change. Currently he's attacking the things Naruto holds dear. Sasuke could of killed the tailed beast as soon as he caught them, but didn't. Could of killed Sakura and Kakashi, but didn't. If you don't notice Sasuke is pulling an Itachi. He's trying to become the last to be inhabited by the Curse of Hatred. He either wants Naruto to kill him or he wants Naruto to prove his resolve. If Sasuke truly wanted "Revolution" he would of already taken advantage of Naruto's trust in him, but yet again he didn't.

[edit] I wouldn't be surprised if Naruto at the end, opts to kill himself and like Madara, without black zetsu influence, Sasuke stops Naruto.

Sasuke respects Naruto as a fighter/rival. They need an adequate arena and it just seems...fitting.

Also if you want a practical purpose, they will destroy the statues during their fight which for Sasuke, would mean to start eliminating traces of the past world.

Sasuke knows he won't interrupted there I guess and some part of him wants to beat Naruto there again to see if he has what it takes but weather he can do that or not will be shown in the coming chapters.

It's big and it's away from the people trapped in the infinite tsukuyomi. It doesn't seem out of character at all for Sasuke to reminisce. Do you recall what he did when he was at the village with Orochimaru. He needed a moment to take in the nostalgia of the village. It means something to him. VoTE means something to him personally and it was also the battleground of the trans-migrant predecessors

You answered your own question.

It made me actually embarrassed for Sasuke and cringe for Naruto.

Sometimes I feel like I feel in love with the wrong manga. Got into the anime during the Pain arc and wanted to also get the backstory behind Sasuke and Itachi. Due to Pain's reason for attacking Konoha and Itahi and Sasuke's conflict I was convinced this was a very politically intelligent manga.

BOY WAS I WRONG!
