Tsukiyomi

Tsukiyomi is the most powerful Genjutsu in Itachi's arsenal. Once ensnared, Itachi can torture the victim indiscriminately; for an amount of time determined by him. Tsukiyomi also possesses an incredibly small activation time. Defeating the jutsu requires not only superior Genjutsu aptitude to the user, but the Mangekyou Sharingan as well.

Amaterasu

Amaterasu is the most powerful Katon shown to date. Appearing on eye-contact, the technique has proven immensely destructive. It rapidly burned through a fire-proof toad, to the dismay of Jiraiya. Incinerated Sasuke's durable Jotai Ni wing which tanked a C2 explosion. Finally, it defeated the Cerberus, which had just survived Futon: Rasenshuriken.

Amaterasu has only been dodged once when applied seriously; by Ei. He needed to detect the jutsu's activation through blood loss. Against Itachi, this would leave him vulnerable to Tsukiyomi. He can also manipulate Amaterasu, which should make it even harder to avoid.

When not sick, Itachi can cast Amaterasu with little physical side effects. ] Thereby demonstrating both incredible jutsu speed, and a lack of aftereffects from usage.

Susano'o

The greatest Mangekyou Sharingan jutsu; Susano'o vastly amplifies both offense and defense. To the point that Zetsu believes him to be invincible. Furthermore, Itachi successfully reacted to lightning with it, making it almost impossible to bypass.

Offensively, the Totsuka no Tsurugi is the most potent weapon in Susano'o's skill-set. When struck, the target is unavoidably sealed. However, it's effectiveness is not limited to soul-sucking, as it decapitated Orochimaru's Hydra technique effortlessly. In all instances of the weapons use, the target has been incapable of reacting; demonstrating formidable speed.

While largely featless, Yasaka no Magatama is apparently Itachi's strongest attack.

Defensively, Susano'o supplements Itachi's typical lack of durability. Yoton: Yokai failed to break-through Susano'os rib-cage. Futon: Shinku Reppa failed against an imperfect Susano'o; even with assistance from Kuchiyose: Baku. [28] As a perfected Susano'o, Itachi's will be even harder to penetrate; even without the Yata no Kagami. This legendary weapon affords Itachi one hundred and eighty degrees of protection, and can alter itself as necessary to repulse attacks.

When not struggling with disease, Itachi has also shown far greater ease maintaining the technique. Thus allowing him to use Susano'o as more than a fall-back, and instead deploy it tactically throughout a confrontation.

Ninjutsu

Katon Jutsu
Itachi has proven himself a proficient user of Katon techniques.

Katon: Goukakyu pressured Sakura, Chiyo and Naruto from well outside it's effective range. Kakashi had to Doton to avoid the fireball from a closer position. Itachi has also employed the technique intelligently. Distracting the enemy with it, and thus allowing himself to close to Taijutsu.

Katon: Hosenka Tsumabeni is a powerful supplement to Itachi's Taijutsu. Capable of being executed mid-dodge, against Kirabi, means it be applied to almost any situation. ] Kirabi was also forced to use a partial transformation to painfully block the jutsu, despite mountain leaping speed.

Suiton Jutsu

Fighting on water grants Itachi several additional options.

Suiton: Suigadan is capable of targeting an enemies blind spots, and has virtually no travel-time. Kakashi, with a 4.5 in speed and Sharingan, needed an all-encompassing shield to deflect the attack.

When provided a water source, Itachi has access to a defensive ability. Suiton: Sujinheki was capable of negating a rather large explosion. When combined with Itachi's exceptional seal speed and three hundred and sixty degrees of protection; Sujineheki makes for a competent, if understated, jutsu.

Bunshin Jutsu

Itachi is a skilled Bunshin user, possessing several variants in the field.

Karasu Bunshin allow him all the utility of a Kage Bunshin, but for less stamina. In addition, the component crows are capable of Genjutsu, and can be used to distract enemies.

Itachi also has access to the standard Kage Bunshin. However, he is also capable of detonating them. Detecting this feint likely requires a Dojutsu capable of seeing chakra.

Genjutsu

Itachi is perhaps the most skilled and versatile user of Genjutsu in setting.

Itachi has multiple methods for deploying Genjutsu. Eye-contact can instantly place the target under Sharingan Genjutsu. Not only must you avoid Itachi's eyes, looking at his torso leaves you vulnerable to Utakata. Itachi can also discorporate his Karasu Bunshins, providing him with multiple allies; all capable of Sharingan Genjutsu.

His Genjutsu is almost impossible to defeat as well. Orochimaru was incapacitated by Magen: Kasegui. Kurenai - the strongest Genjutsu user in Konoha - had her Genjutsu casually reflected back on her. Itachi is also considered capable of controlling people from afar with Genjutsu. He is said to possess power over the Kyuubi, which the Databook states is the same ability used by Sasuke to control Manda.

The manipulations carried out through Genjutsu, have been incredibly wide-ranging. Deidara was tricked into almost committing suicide. Naruto was tortured psychologically, and he has proven himself adept at simulating entire battles.

Taijutsu

While lacking in lethality, Itachi's Taijutsu is incredibly advanced.

His style focuses on deflections and parries while defending. Itachi successfully parried Chidori, showing the advantage he possesses over typical blocking. Similarly, Kakashi was rapidly maneuvered into a headlock; despite having the advantage of surprise. Against Rikudou Naruto, his vastly superior strength was made ineffective; as none of it was ever applied to Itachi .

Itachi's weapon skills are prodigious. Sasuke explicitly summoned shuriken in order to keep up during their clash. He also used basic kunai to blind the Rinnegan, from blind-spots no less.

In terms of speed, Itachi is one of the few to have a mastery over it, as stated by the Databook. He maintained pace with Naruto, and successfully evaded both Kirabi and Naruto simultaneously. During his fight with Sasuke, he avoided Goryuuka from point blank range, despite suffering from exhaustion and a thigh wound. Even against Kirabi - with the fastest method for ending Genjutsu - Itachi was capable of capitalising on the illusion.

Intelligence

In a battle of minds, Itachi is unlikely to be outsmarted. With Sharingan insight and hailed as a prodigy that scored a 5 in intelligence, only someone with Shikamaru-level intellect should be able to outsmart him. Itachi should intellectually outperform or stalemate most others.

In his first showing, Itachi used multiple schemes to out-maneuver both Kakashi and Kurenai. When confronting Sasuke, he mixed Bunshin feints with their shuriken clash, leaving him thoroughly unprepared. In his latest showings, Itachi used basic Katons and kunai to maintain the initiative. Although not lacking in raw power, Itachi's skill allows him to use to use basic moves at even the highest level of combat.

Stamina

When sick and diseased, Itachi was capable of five Mangekyou Sharingan techniques. With a base skill-set comprised of largely C and B Rank techniques, stamina is largely a non-issue outside the Mangekyou, even when limited.

Against Nagato however, he demonstrated far superior reserves. Koto-Amatsukami, multiple Amaterasu's, Susano'o and Yasaka no Magatama While Itachi may not have the reserves of Nagato, Naruto or Kisame, his reserves are more than adequate to ensure victory. Before exhaustion becomes a factor.

Conclusion

Please keep in mind that this thread is largely to enable easy evidence gathering. While you may disagree with my interpretation of these feats, they still provide evidence to anyone interested in debating.

Regardless, I hope I've demonstrated why Itachi is one of the most feared shinobi in the Narutoverse. His speed, intelligence, and ability to blend all three shinobi arts makes him fearsome in close range combat. The Mangekyou only accentuates these strengths. At the same time removing one of his great traditional weaknesses: lack of durability.

While Itachi may be more suited to short range battles, the Totsuka and Yasaka no Magatama give him the tools to fight at range.

When combined with his efficiency and intelligence, there are few opponents Itachi cannot overcome.

I did not comply these feats it merely here to show you how epic itachi is

Sasuke broke tsukuyomi without the MS, and heʻs canonically inferior to itachi in genjutsu.

Why not bring up the weaknesses of the jutsu as well? Like failing to kill a samurai. Hardly doing any damage to Eiʻs arm. Being blocked by a small part of gaaraʻs sand?

When not sick, Itachi can cast Amaterasu with little physical side effects. ] Thereby demonstrating both incredible jutsu speed, and a lack of aftereffects from usage.
so youʻre giving healthy itachi the stamina feats of edo itachi? the same edo itachi who has unlimited chakra, and experiences zero MS strain due to having an immortal body? Seems legit.

Defensively, Susano'o supplements Itachi's typical lack of durability. Yoton: Yokai failed to break-through Susano'os rib-cage. Futon: Shinku Reppa failed against an imperfect Susano'o; even with assistance from Kuchiyose: Baku.
how in the world did Danzouʻs fuuton fail against Sasukeʻs V3 susanoo? Is failing against susanoo = blowing a giant hole in the back of it and exposing the user?

[28] As a perfected Susano'o, Itachi's will be even harder to penetrate; even without the Yata no Kagami. This legendary weapon affords Itachi one hundred and eighty degrees of protection, and can alter itself as necessary to repulse attacks.
did you just say itachi has Perfect Susanoo?
Yata doesnʻt give him 180 degrees of protection, it only splashes after it gets hit by an attack.

When not struggling with disease, Itachi has also shown far greater ease maintaining the technique. Thus allowing him to use Susano'o as more than a fall-back, and instead deploy it tactically throughout a confrontation.
you mean as an edo tensei, the jutsu that gives the zombies unlimited chakra and an immortal body? Again, how is that an honest argument on your part?

Again, why do you believe that a living itachi should get the stamina feats of a version of itachi that has an immortal body and has unlimited chakra?

Itachi obviously is an extremely gifted and powerful shinobi. But the fact that you have to leave out the downsides of his jutsu and give his living self his edo feats shows that your analysisʻs goal isnʻt to honestly analyze itachi, itʻs just to make him look good, even if it ends up making him look better than he actually is.

Itʻs not just a feat thread. Youʻre ultimately using all of these feats to make an overall conclusion about how strong itachi is. And therefore if you donʻt include the downsides of his jutsu, then youʻre not giving use a genuine analysis of Itachi.

Then thereʻs the fact that some of these ʻfeatsʻ youʻve brought up a straight up lies. Like Danzouʻs fuuton failing against Sasukeʻs Susanoo.

Plus, I want you to again tell me why in the world you believe living itachi should get the stamina feats of edo itachi who has unlimited chakra and an immortal body?
