it actually Kurama ,not naruto .Kurama have to absorb nature energy,plus give naruto chakra ,healing and regeneration abilities to fight his oponent.If kurama was still evil and did not wanted to help naruto,then Naruto would have die early in the series/war arc

Naruto and Kurama are one. Relying on his power doesnt take anything away from him. And at the start of the war, Naruto used only the chakra he captured from Kurama. It was later that he unlocked bijuu mode.
