For me, my favorites are
1. Ozai
2. Unalaq
3. Amon
4. Zaheer
It's very close between Amon and Unalaq u_u

Best Villains
1. Unalaq
2. Ozai
3. Amon
4. Zaheer

And the strongest,
1. Unalaq
2. Amon
3. Ozai
4. Zaheer

I personally find Zaheer to be overrated.
All my opinion.

Ho hum u_u
I read though...
Unalaq is the strongest, best villain, and probably my favorite out of the 4 overall. Zaheer's airbending is my only real enjoyment of his character, Ozai was badas I can't lie, but he got punked the worst lel, and Amon was basically forgettable imo.

Sorry then lul
I was following you up until Amon. Why do you think he was forgettable? He was Korra's first serious threat, a non-Avatar who could strip people's Bending, was a tooootal badass, and he had the most OP Bending.

Favorite?

1. Amon
2. Zaheer
3. Ozai (I like him a lot. The third place isn't because I like him less than Zaheer. It's very close. In a way, it's close to a tie.)
4. Unalaq

Best? I don't do "best." My best is my what I consider favorites. I don't do "this person is the best for critical reasons and blah blah" I just love/like who I like. I have reasons, which I'll explain later below.

Strongest? I don't know.

Zaheer (He's very strong. I feel like Ozai is more trained and experienced. Amon has very powerful abilities too.)
Ozai (Very solid)
Amon (He might be stronger than Ozai and Zaheer, but I'm not sure. Strongest lists aren't my forte, especially considering how close these characters are in terms of power)
Unalaq (Without the dark spirit he's the weakest, still strong but the weakest, but with it I'd say he's probably the the strongest. I mean, I had a really hard time figuring how Korra would stop him.)

So, that list could be anything.

Amon and Zaheer, especially Amon, are so interesting and I love their personalities and their views. Anarchy is so interesting. Amon is, in my opinion, the best Avatar villain. When Korra aired, I liked book 1, but I didn't really think about it. I didn't let it seep in. After rewatching it and understanding it, I feel in love with it all. Amon really hit me in all the right places.

Ozai feels like a classic villain to me and his story with his kids and wife felt very interesting and as I said, felt classic. Fit the tone so well.

Unalaq felt uninteresting to me, but after S3, he became more interesting. Still my least favorite, but I like him more. I love Amon though.

My favorite villain from Avatar, overall, is Amon, but, although not mentioned here, Azula is one of my favorite characters ever. I believe she and Amon (and Ty Lee) crack my favorite ten fictional characters of all time.

Anyways, cool and interesting list.

Wasn't he doing that by waterbending though? Him dying like he did, made his character fall flat to me, not to mention he didn't really seem threatening to me, maybe for lack of fights? He seemed like he had potential but then was cut short due to season 1 intentionally being the only season. His character also seemed slightly lacking, or maybe I'm just forgetting something.

I understand what you mean with Ozai, and I agree. Not a good bone in his body. "You're weak, like your people. They did not deserve to live in this world, in MY world! DIE!" <--- Awesome line. And it really helps that he's played by Mark Hamill xD

Amon... Dammit. He was why LoK caught my attention. Masked men are always unbelievably interesting, and coupled with the amazing voice of Steve Blum? Recipe for success.

I greatly enjoyed Unalaq. I didn't think he'd be the villain of the season at the beginning, so that scored a lot of points with me. The way he drives Korra, Tenzin and Tanraq apart was beautiful. He reminds me a biiiit of Scar from The Lion King. And yeah, unfortunately without Vaatu he is the weakest of the four lol

Zaheer, never quite got my attention like the other three. He came off as nothing but a thug u_u

I really enjoyed his character, especially when it turned out he was Tarrlok's brother. And Bloodbending is a super OP form of Waterbending.

Jacko chiming in.

I think he may be forgettable to some people since books 2-3-and probably 4 are more connected in a way (and villain wise, although I think Zaheer carries Amon qualities and may make Amon more popular or add more eyes to him), but to me atleast, he was Korra's first threat and he really set the tone of the show. He's like what I think General Zod is in Man of Steel. He won't be Lex or Doomsday in terms of being an overarcing threat or as much as a popular hit, but he was the first and he really set the tone.

Anyways, to me Amon is my favorite. As is General Zod. And sometimes your favorites aren't as popular. I can recognize why, but that's cool. They are memorable to me and left an impact on me. I freaked when I heard his voice in the finale of Book 3. That cameo was great. From all villains, especially him for me. Just a surreal moment.

Zaheer was sort of Amon's estranged cousin, character wise. He was more rugged and a criminal and more spiritual. Amon had mystery and was more of a realist. They were both anarachists with different ideas. Equality vs chatoic order. Very fascinating. I want to hear them talk or debate. Amon wants to end bending and Zaheer was to end kings and queens. Could they have aligned? It's really cool to imagine. Would they go at it? So cool.

Mark Hamill. Steve Blum. I believe Avatar, as a whole, has the best casting of all time.

I think I'll enjoy Unalaq a lot more because I haven't rewatched S2. I loved the notion of a civil war though. That was awesome and it was great to see the water tribe be bad. Maybe I like it more than I realize. That's what I love about Avatar. My least favorite book/villain is still so damn good.

Cool chatting with you.

That was my favorite moment of the season. I had to watch it three times.

Hmm that's a good point on how the story connected, and about being the first threat for Kora as avatar. Either way I respect your opinion on it.

Yeah that was a good plot twist, and waterbending is the strongest bending imo.

Blood is to Water what Lightning is to Fire, and Metal is to Earth.

.... And if that's the case... What's the advanced form of Airbending? Blew my own mind.

Lel water had ice, and earth has lava also. Airbending has flying... :| Poor airbending, it gets no love. I was hoping airbending would involve the spirits or something...

I'm not sure Ice is an advanced element though... And "flying" isn't exactly what I meant...
