This has been the talk as of late between Tokyo Ghoul fans, I just found this on my facebook so I hope it gives you the answer you were looking for .
OKAY, SO HERE'S SOME SORT OF NEWS FOR EVERYONE:
Ishida-sensei (the author of Tokyo Ghoul) just recently posted some tweets with regards to the ending of the manga. You may view his actual tweets via his twitter here:
And here are rough translations of those tweets made by a Tokyo Ghoul fan from tumblr (bear in mind that these translations are VERY rough and are NOT 100% accurate):
"Part I is basically announcing that ‘Tokyo Ghoul’ is over and starting next week’s YJ, it won’t be published anymore. He’s really thankful for the fans who had fun reading it and he himself had a fun time expanding it. He’s apologizing to the people who got surprised by the ending.
Rough translating Part II. Long story short, he was supposed to give an explanation regarding the last chapter but he found out that part of 143 got leaked and it circulated around and he got a lot of questions for it.
Part III. He got a lot of queries for it so he was thinking if he should’ve ‘announced it’ but he was thinking about the people who waited for the actual Thursday release (today) and he’s apologizing to the people who found out about what happened in 143 and had to wait all the way until today (for an explanation).
Part IV. Since he couldn’t decide what to do, he chose not to reply or tweet about it at all. He apologizes to the people who were worried if he was unwell.
Part V. Since the leak wasn’t something he expected, he continues to apologize to the people who knew about the info and were having discomfort regarding it until today.
Part VI. So he’s done with the apologies and whatnot. He receives a lot of queries regarding the manga but he also keeps in mind that he wants to treat his readers equally (in terms of providing enjoyment).
Basically he’s saying he wants to treat each reader equally. Without giving special treatment I THINK THAT’S WHAT HE’S SAYING
Part VII. So basically questions that ask about things in the manga that could end up being revealed later in the manga, he chose not to answer them, he apologizes for this. He does answer questions that makes him thing ‘meh, I guess this is okay.
Part VIII. Moving on, so questions like ‘what happened to this character?’ and ‘what does this mean’ won’t be answered to keep the equality of enjoyment between the readers. All he says is that the answers can be found in the manga. He hopes we understand.
Last part. He apologizes that he can’t disclose more information. If there’s going to be anymore announcements, it will be up either at Young Jump or on the Tokyo Ghoul website. He apologizes and he said that he’ll appreciate it if WE WAIT A BIT LONGER.
