If you recall the Sword of Kusanagi fell in the lava during the battle with Kaguya. I realized it's because every fight between Naruto and Sasuke in Shippuden, Sasuke had it. But in Part 1's Climatic fight with Naruto and Sasuke, since he didn't have the sword then, it kinda makes sense why he won't have it in their final showdown.

Their final battle will mirror their very first one.

(I know there's debates only the scabbard was destroyed, but I think the whole sword is gone, or at least won't be used again)
