What can I do to stop craving for a smoke.

So regrettably, I'm a smoker (tobacco, no no weed) and I have this sudden urge to have one of em nicotine sticks, problem is, it's 1am so unfortunately the shops are closed lmao, the 24/7 that is open is a little too far away so I can't be bothered to walk all that distance, How can I resist the urge? Well say, for at least, 7 hours?

I'm sure someone smokes on NB, So most of you might be wondering "why am I asking such an aberrant question on anime forum?" well, dummy! I need help ofc.

You have to stop it yourslef and limit it. Or get a therapist or some friends to help (if they dont smoke) .

When you wake up, buy an extra emergency pack of lung-cancer givers in case of emergencies like this again.

Just quit it.. i've smoked cigarettest since i was 7y old and i havent smoked any in almost 3 years! Get something better to do.. like gym for good example.

I am chewing on bubble gum and it's helping, but barely.

I am trying, I went from 2 packs, to 8 cigs a day, I think that's a huge step.

I don't smoke cigs but I smoke sheesha. I have been in a situation similar to yours a few times before and all I can say is try keeping your mouth busy with something else like gum, a drink, etc...

One thing that helps is stop making threads about this cause it will make u constantly think about it
Drink something warm. Tea for example or go shower

go sleep.. It's 1 am ? and u need to be awake 7 more hours. U_U not good man

Can't help you that much since I don't smoke but I googled it and I found a helpful WebMD page. Here are some of their tips:


First, you need to learn to delay the urge. There will be an urge to smoke -- almost immediately. Any given urge to smoke lasts about 30 seconds before diminishing again, Arvon says, so you need to do things to keep your mind and body busy until the urge fades again. Some options:

  • Take 10 deep breaths, walk to the sink, pour yourself a glass of ice water, and drink it slowly.
  • Fix a healthy snack. Something that makes your breath and teeth feel fresh is great, such as carrot sticks or a citrus fruit. Or suck on a peppermint.
  • Keep a paperback book with you on a subject you want to learn about. When you feel the urge to smoke, pull the book out along with a pen or highlighter and read a few pages while making notes or highlighting passages. “You’re occupying your mind and your hands with something other than a cigarette,” says Arvon.
