The Narutopedia description of The Ten-Tails is a beast created by the combined entities of the Shinju and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki.

But as far as I know, they are all one.

It is.

The fruit is the shinju in concentrated form.
That is where her connection began.
The shinju (tree itself) like the gedo when it was unsealed from the moon was merely a husk at that point.

Examples;
The shinju merely became a remnant on the battlefield after obito loss it did not vanish.

The ten tails is her form that she took when she confronted her sons to take back the chakra which they were born with.


And this also cements this claim.
(Page 6 and 7 of chapter 629 entitled Windhole shows the ten tails sensing the chakra of all the tailed beast inside naruto and attacks him directly)

Kaguya, after eating the Chakra Fruit, she became one with the tree. She gained the ablility to link all chakra together and to create and link dimenssions (which is a clear reference to the Tree of Life Yggdrasil of the Norse mythology; there is a theory here in the base about it, but unfortunately I cannot remenbe its name).

It could in fact be said that she became one with Nature.

Exactly the shinju granted him more power but was merely a catalyst at that point zetsu is her will in given form so her revival could not be complete without his help as it needs to come back in contact with the right chakras.

She didn't come from a far away place she came from the shinju then ate the fruit
