I think this is right, because of Naruto and his Sage mode and what not. But still, in this case it came from the beams of light which came from the Hokages leaving. I still think it has mostly to do with the Zetsus.

Nothing is random in a story, bro. The only reason Hashirama was given this earlier is that he is not the hero. Concerning the hero, you want him to suffer before getting anything. You want the hero to struggle until the very end. However, one thing is certain, and it is that the hero will reveal new powers every single fight, and the greater the opponent, the more power the hero discovers in himself.

My opinion is that Ashura got the body of the Juubi (wood source) and Indra got the eye of the Juubi (Sharingan). Basically, both Hashirama and Naruto have chakra similar to Biju chakra. Do you remember Hashirama's necklace? Everyone who worn it apart from Tsunade died, and only Naruto was compatible. This was the first time Kishi connected Naruto to Hashirama.

I don't really agree with the second part. Though your first point is interesting. In a sense, the God Tree itself manifest two pinnacle powers. The eye being Rinnegan and the other likely Wood itself. If Sasuke's highest Dojutsu is the same eye, I don't see why Naruto's highest body power would not allow him to manifest Mokuton.

Since the Juubi's actual form was a Tree (Body) with the Rinnegan (Eye).
Madara = Sharingan
Hashirama = Wood Style

Sasuke = Rinnegan
Naruto = Senjutsu

Even if Naruto doesn't have Wood Style, he could always use natural energy around him to bring life energy into the trees and control them, thus having a "Pseudo Wood Style" ability. Like how
