As far as I know, there is no design for him in this The Last movie as of now. That could be just Kishi trolling as always, but it could also be a foreshadow. This movie is supposed to be canon, so a lot of fans are thinking he died because even the side characters have designs. That being said, I don't recall Kakashi or anyone else like him having designs so far as well.. yet I see no one saying anything on that. Weird.

Wait until next week, we'll see what Naruto is planning to do. I doubt he's going to just fight him without saying things. That's not his character.

For shippuden he was also released last, if you read the beginning of part 2, Sasuke's appearance was delayed even Sai (new character then) was released and introduced before Sasuke U_U

It's not "supposed" to be Canon.there has never been a Canon Naruto movie.it's ridiculous to think there would be now,with no proof at all.it's even more ridiculous to predict the manga plot based off of this aforementioned unconfirmed canon movie.
