(Mods please don't close down this thread. Close it in 2 days please, thank you)

So anywho, the thread is to debate about the credibility of the bible as a main scripture.

In my opinion the Bible holds 0 credibility, when compared to other religions who have a main scripture. Why? Due to the simple fact it wasn't written by Christianity's main prophet.. Yeshua aka Jesus. Bible was written by his followers, and as we all know something written by the followers will have a change of things and will simply be the interpetation of their own, regarding what jesus said. So because of that mere fact, to me the Bible holds no credibility, when people say "bible is what jesus said" or "bible is the right way"..

Furthermore, its not even read in its original language, as we all know translations can't be done 100% accurate, and that some feelings and expressions are lost in the translations.

So now i ask you, in your opinion does the bible hold any credibility?

No scripture is credible, they are all myths and fairy tales.

Myths and fairy takes aren't reliable in any way.

I'm guessing you're a muslim? In which case why make this thread, you've already made up your mind. o_O
Also, is the bible not coherent despite being written by many different people throughout many different eras? If anything that should vouch to its credibility, as opposed to a religious text written by a single man who very well could've been delusional.

I don't like discussing others' faith(s). Seems too rude, just leave people to believe what they want to believe.

When you said 'main prophet' the credibility of this thread just took a dip in my eyes. That aside, yes I do believe it credible, while not 100% due to the translation changes! the 'word' is still there

Yes, it is, if you believe in Divine Inspiration (the books written were divinely inspired by God. Therefore, God is the author, acting through a human).

It's circumstantial.

Bible was written by many people and that's why there are a lot of contradictions, hell Saint Paul didn't even meet Jesus

The Quran on the other has been less modified and it's just one book (not like the Bible where there are a lot of books)

But lets be serious here, in the Bible a talking snake told the 2 1st humans to eat an apple that gave them the knowledge of right and wrong. And in the Quran Muhammed flew into paradise on a horse with wings...

They both hold 0 credibility m8

Religious people have the argument of "miracles". I don't think you can prove anything impossible through science when there is talk of Divine Intervention.

Why assume i am of a religion in the first place? =].

And also, religions are led by single person. The main scripture will only have credibility, if the guy who people are following has actually written it.

Imo all religions which focus on worship instead of self excellence hold no credibility.

buddhism /Sikhism the main purpose is self-excellence.
