Yes it can as long as it's within their power to do so.

No unless you write your name with your blood on the page or it already had your name on it.

Yes it can be destroyed but if someone is using and it somehow destroyed then everyone that touched the book is going to die.

And yes the note can run out pages but for some reason light never worried about that

What if the one controlling knew the face?
It would be cool if for example Light made someone that knew L's face to get the Death Note, make the contract, then kill L in front of the others and then suicide, making Light leave with no suspicious
