Leandra Becerra Lumbreras — born Aug. 31, 1887 — has fought in the Mexican Revolution, outlived five of her own children and seen her family grow to include 73 great-grandchildren and 55 great-great-grandchildren. Two millenniums and three centuries. She was there during the final years of the Industrial Revolution, the rise of the proletariat and Marxism in Russia, the assassination of Archduke Francis Ferdinand which sparked World War I, World War II, the death of many presidents, the Spread of Communism and the Cold war, she was 87 when Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, she witnessed the advent of computer and telephone technology, and now she's with us here to see the spread of the internet.
She fought in the Mexican Revolution in a group known as the"Adelitas."
She states that she owes her longevity to eating chocolate everyday and not getting married.
