If Kishimoto isn't willing to let Madara kill her at a perfectly sensible time, he's not going to let Sasuke kill her after a retconned plot twist.

Tsunade doesn't need to be dead for Kakashi to become Hokage. She can live and just give the title to him. Also, if Tsunade dies, that would mean Sasuke succeeds and becomes a dictator...hence no Hatake for Hokage.

She's living btw. All the kages are. We see Gaara alive & Naruto/Sakura happy in "The Last" sketches by Kishimoto.
