Considering super fast pased movement are supposed to create motion blur like effects and not supposed to be paused .... its not really surprising.

But how do you mess up in Madara's. Like it's obvious that he has a pair of eyes.

They probably understood the details wrong about Madara's and Obito's characteristics.
Obito has a sharingan in right eye and rinnegan in left.
