It wasn't a buff, it was a awakening of powers that his eye already has.. I do agree though, Sasuke was out match until he awaken the paths abilities. Now Naruto is in for the fight of his life.

Naruto landed hits only when Sasuke was there to divert Kaguya's attention, that tells you that they're relatively close.

Throwing around multiple FRSs doesn't equate to an auto-win.

As it's been said a million times over, Naruto is an area fighter and Sasuke is a focus fighter. The former also uses unconventional tactics against strong foe and the latter implements traditional strategies and thinks ahead.

All in all, they are each other's antipodes.
