I think something like that will happen, maybe their Indra & Ashura ghosts will die and never reincarnate again. This is kinda like them just fighting again but through Naruto & Sasuke. Maybe Naruto's "we're gonna die" thing was about that. I remember Karin describing Naruto with his bright chakra and Sasuke with his dark chakra which was foreshadowing Indra & Ashura.
