The fact is this is naruto's and sasuke destiny
Neji had the right idea
What ever path you choose it will always end up the same
Naruto and sasuke choose different paths then ashura and Indra they worked together to defeat a common enemy
But they end will always be the same
This fight is their destiny it can't be changed
Most likely their fight will just end up like any of the other fights
With ashura's transmigrants coming out on top or both dying in the process

In my own opinion neji was just blind at what his true destiny was
His destiny was always the same and anyone who knows what destiny is would agree
You can't change fate you can not change ones destiny you can only choose the paths leading up to the same event
That's what neji did he choose different paths only leading up to his fate his death sacrificing himself

Naruto and sasuke did choose different paths then ashura and Indra
Well sasuke did working along with his comrades but in the end it is the same
The fight will happen and one of these legendary shinobis will die
My point is hagoromo knows this, he knows that it can't be changed and that he can't even do anything he even said that he will disappear from the world very soon even if he wanted to which I'm sure he does he can't btw learn what a sage is this doesn't make him any less of a sage
