First, when Itachi was ordered to kill his entire clan, his entire clan for God's sake, he did it, and was praised as a hero here in the base, knowing that he did it in order to maintain peace.

And when Sasuke even says he's going to eliminate the gokage, who are the cause of this war, and control the tailed beasts, who are even the main causers of this war, in order to maintain true peace, and eliminate all the causes of wars, everyone start bashing him and start accusing him of being a criminal. I think itachi is a hypocrite when it came to the massacre he killed innocent people (not all the uchiha were like that) to save innocent ppl in the village but I honestly don't see him hero I see him as a misunderstood anti-hero no matter what the way u look at it he murdered but in the other way it preserved peace so he's a neutral
