This was something he read off a tablet, while I'm not discounting Madara's feats there is nothing that shows he surpasses Itachi in that regard. That plan was BZ really, and even then Madara relied almost completely on luck for it to work. Just like all his fights. He didn't even have a back up if Obito broke the seal which he did. Itachi would have had a plan ready.
