Short and simple.

sasuke's conversation with the sage was omitted from the story because what sasuke said explains why he will have to fight nartuo.

Right not, everyone is in IT so if it was only sasuke and not naruto who freed everyone from it, than he could make any kind of story he could want cause no one would remember.

This way, he can be the saviour of world and be able to change the current ninja system.

I also believe that this is what happened to hago and hamura, I believed they differed on what to do next and hago won, thus becoming the legend and why hamura could never be mentioned.

This would also explain the last battle between sasuke and naruto, and idk how kishi would do the end but it would be wild.

Idk just a thought let me know what you think

If Naruto and Sasuke fought, that would literally contradict the point of the Sage telling Naruto about Indra and Ashuras endless fighting. If the two of them fight then that confirms that Naruto and Sasuke are willingly allowing the cycle to continue. Naruto doesnt want that, he wants peace. Them fighting would also contradict the symbolic nature of Naruto and Sasuke working together.

^^^ Why do people keep forgetting this??? Hagoromo CLEARLY expressed his guilt for choosing one son over the other, thus starting the cycle of hatred. If the Sage saw that Sasuke was only going to continue the cycle (which he would seeing as he's a god of sorts), then he simply wouldn't have gave Sasuke anything at all.

He gave them two seals. He gave them two equally separate powers, so that they together can conquer evil and end the cycle. There just isn't any reason for a fight & SURELY Hagoromo would've put Sasuke in check, if he knew that Sasuke would kill the tailed beasts. They are his friends after all.

If Sasuke doesn't want to work with Naruto, he most likely chooses the violent path because his beliefs contradict Naruto's. Naruto's goal would then to pacify Sasuke or break through to him, but Naruto would have to fight him to defend himself.

Hagaromo did his best but it's up to Sasuke.

Also, nothing says that we can't have both the fight and the Ashura and Indra resolution. It could be more fitting because it will be a symbolic end to the fighting as well as forgiving the differences between the two ideologies.

Guys, the Sasuke and Naruto fight is going to happen. Its the #1 foreshadowed thing in the manga. That Naruto finally defeats Sasuke in battle.

The reason for the battle, we don't know yet but Kishi will give us one.

My opinion Sasuke wants to erase the ninja system as it is now, and purge everything that caused the war and hatred. Probably starting off mentioning he won't allow to live is the Elders of Kohana. Then he'll start a system of peace in his eyes. Conflict brews with Naruto, and the fight later on.

Or, we didn't see Sasuke's conversation with the Sage because it was similar to Naruto's. We saw Naruto talking about having something he wanted to protect and knowing what friends are to him, then it shows both Naruto and Sasuke, with the Sage asking their answer. Sasuke has already acknowledged his friendship and bonds with Team 7 and the others in the past.

Contrary to what people seem to think, Sasuke has changed from his past ways. And like what has already been said by others, if Sasuke still had evil intentions I doubt the Sage would give him more power. Obviously Hagoromo was happy with whatever answer Sasuke gave.

Unless the Sage wants them to learn to cooperate with each other...

He let Ashura and Indra fight for years, shinobi wars to go on, and Hagaromo still did nothing. He also felt responsible for Indra going dark side. This time he is trying it a different way. To me, it seems like an experiment.

We know Sasuke's goal is to change the system in some way, and all of the moments have foreshadowed something dark and violent. It makes sense if Hagaromo wants to see how Indra behaves this time, which, my guess is we'll see a fight for leadership of the leaf. (Sasuke by force or Naruto by democracy)
