The Sharingan could always Supress/Control Kurama. If you want to argue that it was "apparently only MS", well Madara had EMS, and Obito MS, but they used 3T to control. Their eyes were stronger. Sasuke did it while Kurama was sealed in Naruto, not that big of a feat.But madara and sasuke did supress control kyuubi with 3T while manga stated MS needed.
Obito is just naturally superior user, that perfect jin genjutsu feat with no OP genjutsu

I think it was pretty straight forward, MS the power to control 9-tails.
3T is not MS, MS provides stronger chakra and strains the eyes for it.
Sasuke suppressing kurama is legit cuz kurama confirmed so and cuz obito did the same with kushina. Seal has no proved importance there, its just speculation.

It's been proven that 3T can use some MS abilities after it's unlocked, it's not a far stretch to think that their genjutsu would be more potent. But, are you saying that Kurama locked behind Naruto's seal, is not easier to suppress then free Kurama? Lol

Kunai hasnt missed, it was clearly shown to just land there at the same time with headband.
