forgiving obito? in the viz version he just called him awesome not "the coolest guy" but still some people are mad at the fact he forgave him which doesn't make sense. naruto is trying to eliminate hatred in the world how can he do that if he cant even forgive the person he hates the most?
if you have noticed all the major villains in naruto that naruto fights are a step towards him eliminating hatred.
gaara is a representation of himself and what naruto would've become if he didn't stop hating everyone. by saving him it was like he saved himself.
pain was what naruto could've been if he strayed from the path he chose. not only that but he also showed naruto that naruto was not the only one who was "righteous" and could serve "justice" and that konoha isn't all peaches and cream.
kcm training naruto eliminated all his own hatred remember? and when we saw the things he hated obito was not there why? naruto didn't know obito killed his parents until kushina told him and the only way he could go kcm is if he had no hate for kurama to exploit meaning he had ALREADY forgiven obito for that.
obito was the final test if naruto could really end the cycle of hatred. he killed his parents, he manipulated sasuke, he killed neiji, he inadvertently destroyed konoha, killed asuma, etc so many reason for him to be hated yet when they all connected to obito when trying to pull out the bijuu he COMPLETELY understood obito and how he was abused and manipulated and was just like naruto. he forgave the obito who wanted to be hokage not the obito that wanted to be no one.
so basically stop expecting a "realistic response" to an "unrealistic goal" he cannot end the cycle of hatred if he still hates.
