Yes ,v1 8th gate gai most likely will destroy PS but even v2 8th gate gai can't touch intangible kakashi

He doesn't need to bother with PS, just using the intangibility uses less chakra and Gai still can't touch him.

And as you said, he's blitzed Kaggs who herself is extremely fast.

Even if guy can (doubt it) it doesn't matter. He has no way to pressure him for a continous 5 minutes and and no way to tell if he's using intangibility without attacking him.

The very fact that 8G is 8 gates means it has to kill him. 8G not killing him means he has godly regenerative powers that allow him to heal all his wounds instantly. Also means he basically has infinite chakra.

OT: Gai isn't getting past a Rikodou powered PS. Kakashi wins.

oh don't be so technical. Using your logic you can't put 8G Gai in match ups at all unless Naruto is just standing by to heal him afterwards.

Power wise your logic is sound but Gai is the single fastest and most agile character that doesn't use FTG. I mean the guy was kicking air ..

It's not that I don't understand it's that I want to be able to use 8G Gai in a VS thread but I have to tweak the rules so he doesn't die or else it's not really a victory. I'm perfectly within my rights to do this.

You are underestimating kakashi's speed feats. Gai's night moth does destroy susanoo IMO, but kakashi doesn't need it, he can go intangible, he would only use it if he needs to fly or reach big objects very fast (jumping and flying in susanoo is a lot faster).
Even if Kamui snipe is not useful here (because Gai dodges it) Kakashi would atack with Kamui raikiri and Susano slashes until one of them reaches gai, and if Gai keeps dodging them he would then try to use Kamui shurikens and kamui snipe

Yes, but after every every Night Guy there is an interval in which he spits out blood, which can be utilised via kamui rikiri.
