I know I'm late and I wasn't gonna bother but I felt like throwing my 2 cents in. Personally I like the character's looks better, idk why but that extra inch or so makes Gon's hair look stupid to me. Also, people say it's an unimportant scen to leave out but it really irked me for some reason that the '11 version completely left out Kite in the beginning, I mean that scene spurs the whole manga it ignites Gon's hunt for Ging it shows him the ways to be a Hunter it sparks his Hunter Exam kick, the whole manga rests on that scene happening really.

Dude's who like flashy animation don't understand the greatness of 1999 version,
they even whine about 1999 version have filler, well of course they have the manga is still running regularly at that time what you expect ?

I'm trying to get into it. So please explain to me what's the difference? Do they cover different arcs or something or can I start 2011 and still be able to follow the story properly?

The animation is better, no fillers and the fights look more epic
