Jiraiya symbolizes Kishi's father

A friend of mine and i have been talking about this ever since Jiraiya died. It's very obvious that Jiraiya respresents Kishi's father. Jiraiya was a father figure all along the manga. A father to Naruto, a father to Nagato/Konan/Yahiko and a father to Kakashi. He is the only person to this date that has never come back, either via Edo Tensei, plot device or any other thing. Kishi left him alone after he died.
He had the best death of all the characters in NV, simple as that. He died like a true ninja. And was left in peace.

Well I don't know Kishi's father so I can't say one way or the other. Though I feel like it would be weird if J-man was inspired by his dad, makes his dad seem kinda odd IMO. But simply being a sensei/father figure doesn't seem like enough reason for him to be assume he symbolizes Kishi's dad.

Actually, Jiraiya Goketsu Monogatari was written over the years by several different authors, but the Kabuki drama was written by Kawatake Mokuami who is credited with being one of the greatest, if not the greatest Kabuki playwright. Jiraiya's trademark Kabuki dance as he introduces himself is a nod to Kawatake from Kishimoto. Kawatake is also one of the most prolific having some 360 plays (130 domestic, 90 historical and 140 dance dramas). His plays were very popular due to the use of anti-hero types (thieves, rogues, etc) and for their explicit love scenes. Kawatake was also disowned by his family due to his frequent frollicks with Geishas which is another great example of incorporation by Kishimoto.

To the OP the reason why he didn't come back is because he lives still.
