[Discussion] Gray used demon slayer magic on a demon

I think Gray's power up does make him stronger, however people are overrating him. He one shotted a demon using demon slayer magic. Demons are weak against this type of magic. While this feat is amazing, it isn't an accurate measure of his power. He is not above laxus, erza and makarov like some people say. He is on the same level as gajeel and natsu i think. He is natsu's rival after all.

We saw that Slayer magic don't work on species, if user is not powerful enough. We saw that with Dragon Slayers, when noone of them was able to beat Dragon. So, Gray beating Demon is indeed impressive.

I wouldn't rank him on Laxus' level or near that, tho, I would say that he is currently stronger than Erza or Natsu, but these two will probably got some new power up soon.

While Demon-Slaying Magic is much more effective when used against demons, the feat is still a feat, whether he is using it on demons or not. We cannot definitely say how powerful that magic is, since he annihilated that demon in less than 10 seconds. While it is probably safe to say he is above Natsu and Erza, we cannot say how much more powerful he is than them and how much stronger he has gotten.

I kinda agree with you on that but I doubt he is stronger than erza, but could be on same level as her.

Well no magic but dragon slayer magic worked on them while demons are affected by all magic with demon slayer magic being more effective.

Dragons are immune to other types of magic while demons can be defeated by normal magic. Thus you can't compare them since based on what we've seen demons are more vulnerable to magic and their slayer magic. You can kill a demon with magic so a proper demon slayer one shot makes all the sense in the world. Of course Gray's strength was a factor.

When i said immune i didn't mean in the strictest sense of the word. Yes they aren't immune per se but i used that term since it was easier. You are right, they are actually not immune but their body's are tough enough to withstand other forms of magic so only dragon slayer magic can harm them. Zeref's magic should kill them. Also i guess, in theory non combative forms of magic should work on them. (teleportation, gravity, healing, telepathic linking etc.)
