Distance: Team 7 vs Zabuza/Haku

Intel: Zabuza knows Neji has Byakugan. Team Gai know about Zabuza's assassination tactics.

Conditions: Protect the damn bridge builder! Or mission failure.

Restrictions: Gates 1-8 for Lee and Gai. They must stay in base!

Base Gai is more than enough to handle Zabuza, and with some help from Lee or Tenten things will probably sway even further in his favor. Meanwhile, Neji's Byakugan and techniques would be ideal for fighting Haku.

I can see it going Gai and Lee take down Zabuza and then Neji and Tenten take down Haku. Difficulty would probably be moderate since this is Part 1, but yeah - I feel like they were already more in-tune and skilled than Team 7 was during that arc and, as we've seen, Gai is no slouch.

I think team Gai takes it med diff. I believe they had a much better teamwork than team 7 at that time. Also I believe the students were stronger.

Team Gai negs. Rock lee shits on Haku. Sasuke with one tomoe could react to haku while Sasuke with 2tomoe couldn't even react to Lee with his weights. Neji can aid Gai through Zabuza's mist. Team Gai low no difficulty.

Did people here read the OP? Gai and Lee have to stay in base so it should be closer than it seems. Team Gai probably shells out a win, but it's not close to neg diff. If it was a 1 on 1 fight I'd wager Zabuza should be able to take part 1 base Gai at the very least.

Neji would have a better chance at Haku's needles.

The only problem would be Zabuzas mist. Not sure how they will counter that when Neji is off fighting against Haku. If Neji were to fight against Zabuza, I don't think that Lee in base could handle Haku, but I could be wrong.

I don't think people realize how -purposely- weak/watered down team 7 was initially, including kakashi.

Lee & tenten beat haku, shattering mirrors w/ scroll combos & knocking him out w/ gouken

Neji sees thru the mist & combos zabuza along w/ Gai

Base Lee would have solo'd team 7, let alone neji

Neji is a horrible matchup for either Zabuza or Haku. Base Gai is pretty fast and is capable of fending off and beating Haku. He can put up a good fight against Zabuza but he has a water source allowing him to capture him in water prison. Either Neji or Lee can save Gai while the other keeps Haku busy.

I see team Gai taking this with high difficulty.

I find this to be pretty ignorant. Zabuza beat sharingan Kakashi in a taijutsu battle quite handily, and Base Lee shitting on Haku is a baseless claim. Kakashi only needed sharingan when Lee entered gates vs Gaara, before that he kept up with everything just fine and was picking up more details than even Gai was.

It's nowhere near as big of a stomp as you think it is, try not to let it cloud your judgment just because Zabuza and Haku were the first real opponents in the manga. Zabuza was clearly more than a match for Kakashi 1v1 and both Haku and Zabuza could have murdered the rest of team 7 instantly should they have wanted.
