I remember the wave mission finale when it first aired on Toonami. I remember it had a big emotional impact on me back then.

Yeah I did. The first episode I saw was Sasuke vs Orochimaru in the forest of death. Then there was a weekend marathon event with all current episodes at that time. I became hook at that point.

Ahh the good days. I was twelve in '06, and had moved on from Inuyasha to Naruto. I think the Gaara vs Rock Lee fight sold me on Naruto.
