Just because you thought the ending was bad doesn't eliminate everything Kishi did before. I agree that the story went down hill after Pain's defeat but most notably when the war began. Most would agree that the war, in general, was the wrong direction for Kishi to go. He could have done a Kubo and broke this final arc into multiple arcs, yet he didn't do that.

Point is, that yes the ending this far has been lackluster, but it doesn't instantly make the manga crap, just lowers its overall quality.

So, you have read all of these other great manga...

And you think this is the end?

Shame on you.

All of Shipuuden was to get to this conflict with the Fallen Sage - the Heretic of Six Paths - the meddling child with more power and intelligence than discipline and wisdom.

The Sage of Six Paths is the one who set out to end human suffering.

Pain was a self-declared God who set forth to manage the cycle of human suffering.

Obito/Madara wished to create an illusion to end suffering.

Naruto has not brought peace to the world - and following the Sage will only lead him to make the same mistakes the Sage did and to walk the same path of meddling that the Sage has been walking.

It's not over until the crowd cheers for Naruto.

There is no crowd, here. The people trapped within IT are disturbingly absent...

None of you deserve Sh@t, you sit there and read your free illegal obtain copy of the manga and then you complain about it, only those who pay for it have the true right to criticize his works.

I didn't think FMA was all that great, didn't even think it was good, average and very overrated for me. Death Note as well, not average but I think it's just decent at best as well.

I think Naruto prior to this arc was better than them but Kishi had to ruin it for some reason.

Naruto isn't bad but it isn't great either.. i admit there are some interesting things in the manga which make you want to keep reading.. however compared to some of the other manga's out there i have read Naruto isn't the best at all..

in all honesty i still prefer part 1 than it is now

Part 1 is boring I never really liked Naruto running after sasuke all the time

He can't be planning another villian if he already finished his manga

And what leads you to believe it is finished?

Where are all of Naruto's friends?

Hamura was mentioned by name... why isn't he projecting himself into the future like his brother?

What's up with Spiral Zetsu?

What's to become of the Bijuu?

We're just getting to the stuff Kishimoto has been waiting to write since he started Shipuuden.

It hasn't ended yet the way the kaguya thing went makes me feel it's just an essential thing to happen as a buildup to something, also we still have hamura.

And what the guy above me says

but what will you say if Kishi doesn't expound on all of these questions?

it doesn't matter if she was essential or not, what matters is how terribly written her character and arc was. And if this is truly the ending, this is how shippuden will be remembered

Then at that point, he is failing to tell a story.

Naruto's entire motivation was his friends. You can't conclude the story without addressing them.

The Bijuu are directly tied to the Cycle of Human Suffering. They began to look hatefully upon people because they were used for power and destruction, deprived of freedom. You can't end the series without explaining what happens to them.

You can't end the series without showing the world at peace in some context. Kaguya and Madara -just- happened. The notion of 'war' and 'peace' have been undertones since the beginning of the series and the overtone since Naruto's training under Jiraiya and the whole "Child of Prophecy" thing.

You literally can't fail to expand on those elements.

Many of the others he could simply neglect to explain...

But I have my doubts. Names and the 'obscurely obvious' have been Kishimoto's favorite things to play around with.

Shinto and Buddhism have been beaten to a pulp by the series. Things are about to get a little Taoist around here:

This explains the Naruto Universe.

At first I thought it was purely a weird Taoist 'nod.' But then it became more obvious as I began digging deeper into Shinto and Buddhist teachings.

At the core of Japanese Buddhism is a Taoist model of the physical and divine universe. This is symbolized by the 'old' Yin and Yang symbol in the center - the spiral. This symbolizes the mixing of Taiji (divine inspiration) with Wuji (the formless infinite) to create the cycle of Yin and Yang. This produces the four movements which in turn create the Eight Trigrams - or Bagua; the core phases of the mundane world.

I just thought it was weird that the Bagua were illustrated as triangles... and that square always seemed a bit odd.

Then it hit me while researching Hidan and the symbols used for Jashinism. The square in the upper left hand corner is the symbol for Amaterasu - the Sun Goddess. The circle formed from the spiral is the symbol for Tsukuyomi - the Moon God. The triangle forming the Bagua is the symbol for Susano'o - or the God of the Stars (also God of the Tempest).

This fits in perfectly with the notion under Taoist depictions of Yin/Yang cycles being embodied by the Moon - which continually shifts from fully bright (yang) to fully dark (yin). The Bagua can actually be said to relate to different phases of the moon based on their relative composition and hierarchy of yin/yang composition (whether Yang is building or Yin is returning).

This also ties into Infinite Tsukuyomi and the concept of 'Divine Presence' or 'awareness.'

Amaterasu rules the state of divine presence - the state of divine consciousness and wakefulness. Tsukuyomi rules the state of sleeping and dreaming - when we are focused on the day-to-day and the mundane. Susano'o rules the stars that remind those who are asleep to wake up and to guide them to a state of awareness (from back when stars were navigational aids).

Thus, it would make sense that Susano'o prevents one from falling under IT - which is a state of continually being ruled by a dream world.

Although Kaguya should have never been sealed. Bad things are about to transpire because she was.

I think Naruto went downhill after the Pain arc as well but there's nothing you can do about it. Just enjoy what you were given, at least it'll have an ending. I don't think it's quite over yet, either.
