"It's not every day God creates a perfect person like moi, beautiful both inside and out!"

Basic Information

Name: René Tamaki Richard de Grantaine Suoh
Nickname(s): Tamaki Suoh | King | Daddy
Gender:
You must be registered for see images
Male
Age: 16
Clan: N/A

Looks:

Tamaki is a slender young man who stands at 6 feet tall (183 cm). He has pale, blond hair with fairly long bangs, and his eyes are violet. Tamaki is rather proud of his sense of style, as he’s mostly seen wearing suits of various colors. His favorite one—and therefore, the one he wears most—is lavender with black pants and a dark purple tie. However, when he’s training or relaxing, Tamaki wears a black tank top with a light green overshirt and blue slacks.

Personality:

Although his outward manner would be best described as flamboyant, egotistical and dramatic, Tamaki is, in fact, a young man dedicated to his friends, his village, and his duties as a ninja. He is considered the princely type, entertaining everyone he meets (especially females) with upper-class etiquette and shameless flattery. He views his group of friends as his family, with himself as the father, hence his nickname of “Daddy.” Tamaki is outspoken and naive for his age. He is especially blind to his own feelings. Tamaki seems both poised and charming around strangers, yet he is often bumbling and attention-seeking around his friends.

Part One: A Birth

Konoha hardly ever had any dark and stormy nights, but this was one of them. Yuzuru Suoh hurried through the outskirts of the village, rain pelting every exposed part of his body. Thunder boomed in the distance, and lightning crackled through the sky. The storm was only getting worse and worse. Yet Yuzuru continued on, knowing that by now, he had already missed it. He had just completed a mission and figured that he would definitely be late. Yuzuru wore the attire of an ANBU member; he had been a squad leader for quite some time. His ANBU missions often kept him away from the village, and therefore the person he was going to see.

Yuzuru arrived at his destination, a clearing in the forest where a small, wooden shack had been constructed. As he approached the entrance, he heard the high-pitched crying that confirmed his suspicions. Yuzuru went inside to find a woman holding a newborn child. His child. Behind the woman, lying on a tatami mat was Anne-Sophie de Grantaine, a jōnin and now a new mother. Yuzuru went to her and knelt next to the mat. He took her hands, cold and clammy, into his and smiled at her. He looked over his shoulder to address the midwife.

“What is it?” he asked.

The woman with the child turned to face the young couple. The baby still cried as the woman brought it over to them and placed it in Anne-Sophie’s arms.

“It’s a boy, Yuzuru-san,” she answered quietly. The midwife then moved away and went to take care of the linens as Yuzuru and Anne-Sophie looked upon their child. Anne-Sophie cooed and coaxed him until he stopped wailing. He opened his eyes and looked up at them with absolute wonder.

“Look at him…” Anne-Sophie sighed. “He’s so beautiful.”

“What should we name him?” Yuzuru asked softly. Anne-Sophie had exerted herself so much that her face was red, but she still seemed to blush, which added even more color to her flushed face.

“I’ve had a name picked out for weeks,” she admitted.

“So what will it be?” Yuzuru chuckled. Anne-Sophie cleared her throat.

“René Tamaki Richard de Grantaine Suoh.”

Yuzuru laughed loudly this time, garnering the attention of the midwife and making his little boy smile ever so slightly. Yuzuru looked at Anne-Sophie with a grin.

“How about Tamaki for short? Tamaki Souh?” he suggested.

Anne-Sophie pouted, but only briefly. A small smile crossed her lips as she used her index finger to stroke Tamaki’s cheek. She nodded.

“Fine, fine. Tamaki it is,” she said lovingly.

Rain still poured outside, even though the sound of thunder and flash of lightning had receded. As the midwife helped Anne-Sophie get cleaned up, Yuzuru held Tamaki for the first time. He cradled Tamaki close to his chest, but even the birth of his own child wasn’t enough to get rid of the ache in his heart. He frowned deeply. Yuzuru had been dishonest to his wife. Anne-Sophie was actually Yuzuru’s lover, and Tamaki had been born out of wedlock.

I’ll be here for you from now on. I’ll try to have an eye on you so that you won’t ever end up alone.

Part Two: Growing Up

Ultimately, Yuzuru ended his marriage and remained with Anne-Sophie and Tamaki. However, he continued living a very secretive life as an ANBU squad leader, and he was sent away on many missions. Anne-Sophie raised Tamaki mostly on her own, causing Tamaki to love her more than his father. Yet as time went on, Anne-Sophie’s health deteriorated, and she would be bedridden for days as well as constantly in and out of Konoha’s hospital. While attending the Academy, Tamaki cared for her whenever he could. He always tried to make her smile, often not succeeding; Anne-Sophie continued to suffer.

Things became worse when Tamaki became 14 years old. He had just become a chūnin when Shizue Suoh, his grandmother, came to see him. Out of nowhere, she forbade Tamaki to see his mother. Anne-Sophie was forced to leave Konoha, and Tamaki would now live in an apartment by himself. Tamaki was deeply affected by this. Yuzuru was, too; yet, knowing his place in ANBU and Shizue’s close connections with Konoha’s elders, he refused to express his feelings to Tamaki. This caused Tamaki to develop an estranged relationship with both his mother and father. As for his grandmother, Tamaki continued to treat her with enormous respect and seek her approval, even while he resented her for what she had done to his family.

Tamaki then became best friends with Kyoya Ootori. Tamaki told Kyoya of how much he wanted a good group of friends, or a club, as he called it. He eventually claimed the position of “king” in the club and insisted that everyone refer to him as such. Tamaki became friends with Hikaru and Kaoru Hitachiin, Mitsukuni “Honey” Haninozuka, Takashi “Mori” Morinozuka, and Haruhi Fujioka. Tamaki quickly established his idea of a family among the members of the group, with Kyoya being the mother, Hikaru and Kaoru being the sons, Honey and Mori being neighbors, and Haruhi being the daughter. At the time, Tamaki expressed his feelings towards Haruhi as “fatherly love,” when in reality, the feelings he has for her is romantic love. Tamaki was—and continues to be— rivaled by Hikaru and Kaoru for Haruhi’s affections, and this became Tamaki’s motivation in many things, particularly his training.

Do you think you could tell me what true strength is? I may be out of line, but hiding your true self and putting on airs doesn’t seem any different than running away to me. I would think that embracing the things you truly like and being able to enjoy them is worth more than anything. To just be yourself… I believe that’s what true strength really is.

Part Three: Learning the Elements

Tamaki wished to travel the world, hoping that one day he would find his mother and convince her to return to Konoha. However, knowing full well of what he would face in the ninja world, Tamaki wanted to arm himself with the skills and knowledge for battle. He started by seeking out teachers in the village and, at the same time, keeping his ears open for any news of teachers outside as well. Tamaki remained unlucky in both aspects for a while. Finally, he became aware of a certain teacher in Konoha taking students. His name was Noni, and he was a senpai. Tamaki didn’t even know any of the Basic 5 elements, so his request of Noni was to teach him water. Noni accepted, and Tamaki’s suiton training began.

However, Noni was forced to stop Tamaki’s training, as he was only able to teach Tamaki up to A-rank techniques. Tamaki thanked Noni and expressed his interest in returning to Noni for more training someday. That’s when Tamaki started traveling. Bidding farewell to his friends and promising to return soon, he headed out. He really didn’t know where to begin, but after thinking about it long and hard, he traveled to the Land of Water and found himself in Kirigakure. There, he wished to become a student of Priest, the head of the Bartholomew clan, and requested to be taught earth. Tamaki was very intimidated by Priest (and still is), but Priest accepted.

As he submerged himself in training and life in Kirigakure, Tamaki met Sharingdork. Tamaki explained that he was unable to finish his suiton training with Noni, but now, he had gotten stronger. Sharingdork agreed to help Tamaki complete his suiton training, and soon enough, Tamaki finished. Tamaki was very grateful to Sharingdork for his help, as Tamaki now had one element completed and under his belt.

After quite a while in Kirigakure, Tamaki decided to return home and stay in Konoha. He gave himself just enough time to catch up with his friends and show them his newfound skills before leaving for Amegakure. Upon his arrival there, Tamaki approached yet another senpai called Ushiro. Tamaki asked Ushiro if he could be trained in wind, which was the element he originally wanted to start with. Ushiro began Tamaki’s fūton training, and Tamaki vowed to try his hardest. It wasn’t long before Tamaki completed that element as well.

Tamaki ended up making his way back to Konoha again, as something constantly kept him gravitating toward his homeland no matter where he went. Tamaki concluded that it was because he was simply homesick and missed his friends. As much as he longed to find his mother, he wanted to be with them too. Right when Tamaki crossed the border between the Land of Rain and Land of Fire, he met a man who hailed from Konoha. This man’s name was Adachi. Instead of Tamaki asking for any training, Adachi offered to train him, only asking that Tamaki choose what he wanted to be trained in. He chose lightning, and he delayed another return to Konoha in favor of raiton training.

Adachi even told Tamaki that he would complete the rest of Tamaki’s trainings, despite the fact that it would take much time to do so. Whatever training Tamaki needed, Adachi would provide. Tamaki was indebted to him, for Tamaki still had much to learn. Yet, Adachi told Tamaki that if he found any other teachers in the meantime, he should pursue them for training, too.

This led Tamaki back to Amegakure, where he came across a senpai and friend, Akasha. When he requested katon training from her, Akasha first asked permission to take a new student from her superior. Akasha had been allowed to teach Tamaki, and she began his training in the element of fire. Tamaki started training on his final element and couldn’t be more excited to finish them all.
