He willingly helped a terrorist group make a doomsday weapon. He even said that he was planning on using that power to destroy the Leaf village. Obito even said that his goal was the same as his. He's no better than the other Akatsuki members that helped.

Despite having the intent to crush the Leaf, he didn't do it. In fact, he wants the exact opposite now. No one in NV is perfect, so why be so hard on Sasuke when in reality, the guy isn't nearly as bad as people make him out to be? He did a lot to cause them trouble, but he also compensated by doing a lot that saved their asses during the war. Forgive and forget.
