Tsuchigumo Netero appears to be a helpless old man, but is surprisingly fit and muscular for his age. He has a ponytail, a thick beard, and stretched earlobes with two piercings in both ears. Netero is commonly seen wearing a traditional man's kimono and pair of geta with one ha (tooth).
During the Shinobi world war III which he fought as an ally of Konoha. He changes his appearance for that war by trimming his beard, mustache, and ponytail. When in combat, Netero prefers to wear a t-shirt with the Japanese Kanji character for the word "heart/mind" printed on the front and track shorts.

Netero is at first characterized as an energetic, playful, and at times seemingly absent minded elder. But Netero is slightly insane; he enjoys challenges and is thrilled by the prospect of a formidable enemy. While Netero is an old man, his advancing age has not dampened his quick thinking and speed in battle especially his great concentration in battle. Despite his senior citizen status, he is a very formidable tactician and a skilled user of chakra. He remains calm and collected at all times and displays a unique sense of pragmatism.

He takes satisfaction in being an efficient assassin and that seems to be his only conceit. Killing is just a job to him and emotion doesn't enter into it. He only risks his life if there is a reward to be gained. While Netero is violent and will kill without hesitation, he only does so when it is required to complete a contract; he avoids injuring innocents at all costs.

Background Info
歴史|History :During the Third Shinobi World War, he made a peace treaty with Hiruzen Sarutobi. He developed a technique capable of destroying an entire village which the Third Hokage proclaims a kinjutsu because of its power. By terms of the pact with the Third Hokage, En no Gyōja declared the technique to be forbidden, in exchange for protection provided by Konoha in times of need.
He had two known students in his life, and the first was a man named Hāto who was brilliant and exceptionally skilled in ninjutsu; the second was his granddaughter, Hotaru. The clan has a small fort on Mount Katsuragi that is surrounded by a barrier, and a field with many hidden traps. Additionally, they also have their own hidden village. During the Third Shinobi World War the Tsuchigumo clan was hailed as a powerful and proud clan, because they possessed the powerful Tsuchigumo clan kinjutsu. Feeling that it was his fault the clan fell from glory, he became convinced that it was his duty to restore the clan. So as of this day he still is looking for a way to restore his clan.
