Incorrect. Sakura's punches releases chakra from her fist. Gai doesn't, hence why Kisame couldn't absorb his attacks. His attacks are raw air pressure.

The chakra is not forming into ninjutsu base technique, is equal to just body energy, like our body energy with many name like chi,ki,chakra etc.
When we lost that body energy our power decrease much and it follow with fatigue.
That energy depend on body state, if we are hungry, exhaustion, fatigue, it not gonna functioning well

it is good question. I believe it was only due to Madara using staff to do that and he was in direct contact with staff so maybe that why he could apply yin yang properties to it, so easily:

When 8th Gate Gai was attacking it may actually happened so fast that Madara was unable to apply yin-yang properties to TSB, as it may tire him while keep yin-yang applied to TSB... it is just speculation but who know. Madara was in danger so all he thinks could be shielf himself with TSB as Gai wouldn't pass through it either and Gai isn't using Ninjutsu so what would be point of wasting chakra and focus on applying Yin-Yang properties ?
I am sure that if he knows other also attack him then he would apply Yin-yang properties and nullify Kamui attack on it upon creating space time barrier on it, but again it would be another story, wouldn't it ?

hard to say, the only explanation I see is that Yin-Yang properties/elements have to be applied to TSB as active ability which creates Onmyoudon. It isn't passive ability that for sure, Maybe In Kaguya's case but we have yet to see.
It may be not efficient but it could be also weakness of it as Kishi likes a lot to set limits for everything, I think it reasonable because if it was passive abbility then gg for everyone who is not super taijutsu user or has Senjutsu.

Giant rasengan? Is that when he and minato team up in their bijuu mode to do a collaborative rasengan?

KCM let us agree to agree that plot demand that TSB sometime don't having yin- yang element in it.
If Madara put every time yin-yang element in TSB, Sakura is already dead now when her getting stab by Madara TSB stick. Or Madara to generous to keep her alive.
