I'd focus on taijutsu, supplementing with basic jutsus, fuinjutsu, and owl summonings, and wield a short spear. I would build my defense to genjutsu, but I wouldn't specialize in it for various reasons; I find it to be too much of a gamble and I also have a lack of creativity when under duress, although my mind and skills stay sharp.
I almost don't feel the need in using more personalized jutsus, but at the same time I'm conflicted. I'm interested in using a kekkei genkai that I made up many years ago called "Metal Release" utilizing Earth and Fire, if applicable. This was before Yoton was introduced to us and I was sorely disappointed. I could make metal weaponry and armor and other simple structures, as well as attack with molten metal (aesthetically similar to lava), as well as use vibrations for debilitating and devastating results (by banging my metal structures). The simple versatility would suit well for my style.
But, wanting to use a KKG, especially a fanfic KKG, is so cliche. Raiton and Suiton are also my favorite elements. I'd also like to stick with a theme, and it bothers me when characters seem like they have a random pile of abilities. So since I want to summon owls, I'd want my abilities to be relevant to them. Owls in the past are often associated with wisdom and seeing through deception, protection from evil spirits, as well as death and the afterlife.
