How does Obito get Caught in Izanami?

Izanami was created just to end the reality of izanagi users ( danzo, Obito, madara) by putting them in an infinite loop , through your opponents 5 senses ( not just physical) ,until they find themselves and accept their reality. Obitos life was pretty similar to Kabutos in such a way that this pretty much explains it.

obitos life revolved around rin noticing and accepting him. That's all he wanted really ( besides being hokage)

Also Itachi was able to feel and see anyone's true feelings and use it against them

Izanami has a process for it to work.

You record a scenario, repeat it to fool the senses, then activate the genjutsu.

The only reason Itachi managed to pull it off the first time was because he was an Edo and didn't get killed while doing it. That's why he said it was not meant for battle.


He's not going to be able to use it while alive.

Technically you don't have to actually touch them since it can be activated with any of the 5 senses. All he has to do is pretty much screen shot 3-4 moments he chooses to be played in the loop. He chose 1st moment of the loop to be him getting stabbed to increase Kabutos confidence so he can't stay in izanami longer
