You and I

Some days I feel worlds away from you,
others I feel too close for comfort,
but one thing I know for sure, is that my love for you is true,
and I’ll give you my all when you need company, love, or when you’re hurt.

On the days where all the cards in my hand are fold,
you give me your love and heart, always and without fail,
all this makes me love you more and more, until it is something the world can no longer hold,
you’re so full of energy and life, that in your presence, in comparison I begin to pale.

Without you in my life, I have no idea who I’d be, where I’d be,
the one that keeps me going, you’re the light that keeps my world alive,
you’re what unlocks the doorway to my heart, the key,
and until the day where death do us part, down the road called life, will I continue to drive.

I started writing poetry when someone else started writing to me. We always exchanged poetry, and I improved with each new one I wrote. The trick is knowing what you're going to be writing about.
