The reason is remember how saauke said everyone besides him and Naruto were useless? Kishi may be doing a karma moment he's trying to get saauke to realize that everyone has something to contribute and sometimes you may not be as strong alone as you think you are but rather you're stronger as a team at least that's what I think is being portrayed.

Well there are currently 6 characters not dead or trapped in IT. Of the 6, Sasuke has been the least effective in the fight, and is clearly weaker than at least 3 (also weaker than BZ by feats tbh). This puts him in the 50th percentile at best in terms of overall ability and the 16.666th percentile in terms of current effectiveness. That's pretty abysmal.

What i can say is that he has the 2nd most powerful eye in NV. He has the potential to become more powerful, he's lethal. Not to mention he hasn't shown Yin power so far.
