Nagato is the solo god, no one ever beat him straight up in a one on one fight. Madara lost to Hashirama many times over the years and no he didn't lose intentional, he fought Madara with the intent to beat Hashirama but had backup plans in case he lost. Nagato never lost a fight and even killed a full-fledge ninja before he had any ninja training from Jiraiya. Nagato soloed Jiraiya, the 6 tails Jinchuuriki, Hanzo+forces+Danzo forces, Hanzo (killed him), Naruto (took Naruto down before Hinata intervene), Kakashi, Choza+co, Ebisu, Shizune, Hinata, the toads, Konoha as a whole pretty much. Naruto fought Nagato when with handicaps such as using a lot of chakra in his fights prior to Naruto returning to Konoha and not being able to use Deva path power; oh and the fact he didn't use any element jutsus when Jiraiya stated Nagato could use all 6 elements since he was a kid and we see Obito had the Edo Jinchuuriki use their respective jutsus just fine.
